Where is The Bracy House?
The Bracy House is located in the Cape Neddick part of The Yorks (the four villages of York Harbor, York Village, York Beach, and Cape Neddick) on the southern Maine seacoast. Cape Neddick is a wooded area between York and Ogunquit and our secluded little spot provides a quiet retreat but the hustle and bustle of the villages are just minutes away. Distances to nearby towns:
1.2 miles (1.9 km) from Perkins Cove
1.8 miles (2.9 km) from Ogunquit Center
7 miles (11.2 km) from York Center
14 miles (22.5 km) from Kittery and Portsmouth
How do I book?
What is your cancellation policy?
Varies based on how you book. Contact us for more information.
Will someone be on site during my stay?
Most likely! The owners live in the little black cottage next to the house; however, give guests the privacy they need.
What's the nightly rate?
The nightly rate varies based on season and demand. 9% Maine Lodging Tax and a cleaning fee will be added to your nightly rate.
What is the minimum night stay?
Our minimum stay varies based on time of year. Check our calendars in Airbnb for more information.
In what currency do you accept payment?
We only accept payment in U.S. Dollars.
Is parking available?
Yep. Parking for two cars is provided per unit (four cars, if you rent the entire house.)
Will I need a car during my visit?
That depends on you. The house is a short drive from all the major attractions of Maine's southern coast; however, bike rentals are available in Ogunquit. Whether you rent or bring your own, a bike rack is provided at the house from May to October and we strongly encourage riding with a helmet. If you'd like to walk into Ogunquit along Shore Road, be cautious as the road is narrow and winds along dense woods.
Are pets allowed? What about children?
Families are welcome but please, no pets. Rates are based on two persons per bedroom. Children are counted in total occupancy unless they are under the age of two.
Can we host a party on property?
No parties or additional guests are allowed on the premises unless prior approval is granted.
Is smoking allowed on the property?
Nope, absolutely not. In consideration of other guests (and the owners), we cannot allow smoking or illegal drugs anywhere on the property.
What kitchen items are provided?
The chef's kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, range, dishwasher, toaster, and microwave with basic dinnerware and cookware. Also, cooking oil, table salt and pepper, and kosher salt are provided.
Is maid service available during our stay?
Cleaning is provided between guests but not during your stay. If you would like cleaning services during your stay, we are able to provide contact information for our cleaning company. Please keep in mind that they are quite busy during the summer season so notify us well in advance of your stay.
Do you provide sheets and towels?
Bed linens and bath towels are provided.
Will I see or hear the other guests during my stay at The Bracy House?
With a whole house rental, no. But for rentals of the individual units, yes. If rented individually, the upstairs and downstairs units are rented to separate groups of guests. There is sound insulation between floors, but this is still an old house so please expect to hear your neighbors. And if the house is occupied by others, please be mindful of your noise level in the house.
How close is the beach?
There are five beaches within two to eight miles (3.2 to 12.8 km) of The Bracy House which include Ogunquit Beach, Cape Neddick (or Passaconaway) Beach, Long Sands Beach, Short Sands Beach, and York Harbor Beach.
If I visit in the off season, what is there to do?
Lots. Many restaurants are open throughout the year and Portsmouth and Portland are always bustling. Walking the Marginal Way and the beaches is always lovely and outdoor activities including hiking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing are nearby. Though keep in mind that since we're so close to the ocean, we don't always have snow.
